  On 15th August, 2011, Lavasa wore the colours of India with pride. As a future city with a proud and rich Indian past, Lavasa celebrated India’s 64th Independence Day at Lavasa with a strong sense of solidarity and solemnity.

Mr. Avnish Arora, the head of the CMS: Public Safety & Security department welcomed the chief guest, Mr. Scot Wrighton, City Manager - Lavasa as well as the citizens and Lavasa village committee members – Ankush Shedge & Buwa Pasalkar at the Town Hall.

Also present were the employees of Lavasa and SPVs, employees of the Maharashtra Police Services, the elected representatives of local governance bodies, citizens of Dasvegaonthan, and the staff and students of the Christel House school.

Mr. Avnish Arora invited Mr. Scot Wrighton for Hoisting of National Flag and "Salami to Tiranga". Further, on this momentuous occasion, individual security and safety personnel were recognized and felicitated for their valuable services while performing their duties with dedication, loyalty and honesty. The programme concluded with patriotic performances by the students of Christel House. This was followed by a vote of thanks and refreshments for one and all.
