The Dreamcatchers at Lavasa became the buzzword amongst the teens and kids.
Lavasa believes in the philosophy of lifelong learning, where learning is continuous and goes beyond classrooms. Going by this ethos, THE DREAMCATCHERS AT LAVASA
(May 26 - May 30, 2015) was launched as a holistic 4N/5D residential camp for children between 10 to 15 years. This camp introduced children to art, sports, fitness, nature, theatre and many more under the guidance of renowned experts.
The biggest USP were the sessions conducted by noted celebrities. It was an enormous experience to learn from experts who revealed their success stories and secret mantras to the children. Popular TV & Bollywood star Tisca Chopra shared tips on poise & confidence while facing the camera which left the children in awe and wonder. Mrs. Anjana Mehra and Mrs. Sheetal Gattani taught children to make artistic clocks through basic raw material while Mr. J.S Gaikwad of JSG Electronics gave them a training in Robotics.
The witty RJ Siddhu of Fever 104 FM shared tricks of being an RJ and his session was one of the favorites, amongst the kids. In the night the dream-catchers were left starry eyed as Mr. Arvind Paranjpye, Director of Nehru Planetarium took them on a galaxy tour through the eyes of a telescope. ‘I had never seen the Moon, this close’ was one of the reactions from a child. Children even made their own spectroscopes.
The children, during their city tour, learnt about nature and other fascinating facts of Lavasa and its rich biodiversity. At Ecole Hoteliere Lavasa, they were familiarized with dining etiquettes and then had a detailed session with the Lavasa City Management experts on what goes into the making of a city. Campers were also exposed to the concepts of media advertising (Courtesy: DDB Mudra Group). There was a photography session conducted by Saevus Wildlife Magazine which kept the aspiring shutterbugs engaged.
The children were delighted to meet Mr. Sandeep Patil as they imbibed the spirit of sportsmanship, teamwork and commitment from the sports star.
Achyut Palav, the famous Calligraphist, taught his students numerous ways of using letters to create art. Shefali Saxena, the famous Bollywood singer and dancer taught the kids some quick moves, which the children enjoyed thoroughly. This camp, one of the many flagship initiatives of Lavasa, was successfully managed by PUGMARKS. It came to a grand close with all parents joining their kids at Lavasa, after their delightful 5-day escapade.
There were jamming sessions, fun and frolic, games, contests, songs, splash pad and kayaking.
All in all, the DREAMCATCHERS at LAVASA was a mixed bag of beautiful experiences, new friendships and lifetime memories.
